Surrounded by a moat and set in beautiful parkland, this is one of the finest Renaissance residences in Burgundy. Built in the 16th and 17th centuries, it belonged to the Coligny family and was an important meeting place for Huguenot leaders during the Wars of Religion. Particelli d'Hemery, a financial superintendent close to Cardinal de Mazarin, completed the Coligny family's work by creating the beautiful ensemble we see today, with the help of the famous architect Le Muet. Owned by the Marquis de Tanlay's family from 1705 to the present day, the latter completed the very rich interior decoration. Of particular interest are the trompe-l'œil room and the League Tower, with its surprising frescoes.
