Auxerrois wine

For centuries, the Auxerrois vineyard has been supplying its great wines through the waterways passing through the capitals of Europe via Paris. The vineyard is home to a wide variety of appellations and is spread over a dozen villages that have kept a traditional winemaker architecture.

Archaeological excavations at Escolives-Sainte-Camille, a few kilometers from Auxerre, have revealed an illustrated bas-relief of a bunch of grapes dating from the 2nd century: this discovery allowed to reference the Auxerre vineyards as the oldest vineyard ofthe region.


The typical grape varieties of Burgundy are cultivated there: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Aligote, Gamay, Caesar ….More surprising, in Saint-Bris le Vineux, it is the Sauvignon which makes it possible to produce a very aromatic white wine.So what are you waiting for to discover the diversity of auxerrois wines?
