Archaeological excavations at Escolives-Sainte-Camille, a few kilometers from Auxerre, have revealed an illustrated bas-relief of a bunch of grapes dating from the 2nd century: this discovery allowed to reference the Auxerre vineyards as the oldest vineyard ofthe region.
