Characters, International Book Festival
Every year, at the end of May, the “Characters” festival makes Auxerre vibrate to the rhythm of international literary news by inviting authors from all over the world to the prestigious setting of the Saint-Germain abbey.
Meetings, signatures, debate, animations for the children, musical readings await festival-goers for three intense days, where books are a great opportunity to discover distant cultures and interests with engaged and passionate men and women.
Since its creation, Caractères has hosted authors from the USA, Argentina, Mexico, Japan, Korea, Nigeria, India, Russia … Each occasion brings together more than 2500 spectators.
